One Year Old

I can't believe it has been a year since we first opened the doors of Capo's Music Store: Instruments, Art, Books and More. As I write this I can remember with clarity the long days of work prior to our grand opening. It was a huge leap of faith to open an new music retail store, especially in this economy, and in a small town. Gill and I had planned this endeavor for over three years and felt that last year was the time to go ahead and as the advertisements from Nike says "Just Do It." Now, a year later, we have been overwhelmed by the support we have received. Each day, new customers come through the door and each day new friends are made. We have met so many extraordinary people and we look forward to meet so many more. Now, looking back at our first year, it is amazing at how truly blessed we are.

We had a vision for what this store would be, what our niche was. Each day that vision grows and we get a little closer to realizing the vision. If you have stopped into Capo's this year, you have seen this vision taking shape, one day at a time. We are an Appalachian Arts and acoustic instrument store specializing in bluegrass and old-time music instruments. But, we also have instructional materials, a full lesson program, art, books, Cd's, DVDs, Crooked Road merchandise and lots more. During our first year we sought to be supportive of our local community and we strive to support local schools, non-profits, and community groups. We offer a family friendly shopping experience and are respectful of our customers. We seek to offer the best shopping experience in the region.

As we begin this new adventure with blogging, we hope to use this as another means of reaching out to our customers, offering educational articles, updating followers on what Capo's is doing and providing another means for our customers to communicate with us. Thank you for reading and look for new posts each week.
